
He visited the Northern Lion Dance team on Saturday 1st September 2007 during their performance at the 86th Annual Anniversary of the Kuala Lumpur Chinwoo Association. The Northern Lion Dance team will be competing together with the Southern Lion team and also Dragon Dance team in the coming Games.
Other than Dragon and Lion Dance, Malaysia will also be competing in Bowling, Chess, Xiangqi, DanceSport, Extreme Sports (BMX and Sports Climbing), Futsal, Indoor Cycling, Indoor Hockey and Kabaddi.
The other sports that Malaysia are not competing are Aerobic Gymnastic, Cue Sports, Electronic Sports, Finswimming, Hoop Sepaktakraw, Indoor Athletics, Muay and Short Course Swimming.
As for the demonstration sports Malaysia will be taking part in only 3on3 Basketball and not in Kickboxing and Kurash.
Malaysia is expected to send a contingent of 185 athletes and official, out of which are 135 athletes and 50 officials
In the 1st Asian Indoor Games in 2005, Malaysia took part in DanceSports and Extreme Sports (BMX and Sports Climbing), with 34 athletes and officials. Malaysia won 1 gold through Ahmad Fadzil Musa in Extreme Sports (Skateboard Park) and a bronze through Ahmad Shaiful Aziz also in Extreme Sports (BMX Bicycle Stunt Flatland)
